Heather Adkins , Vice President of Engineering , Google Security On Tuesday, ANI reported her statements: “Avoid using your birthdate; refrain from setting passwords identical to them. Whenever possible, enable two-factor authentication for added security. Keep updating your software—your service providers like mobile companies or computer manufacturers offer these updates to ensure robust protection,” she explained during an event where Google launched a safety initiative aimed at India’s digital revolution driven by artificial intelligence. She cautioned individuals to maintain high skepticism towards content encountered online—even messages purportedly coming from close acquaintances should not go unquestioned. “Should anything seem off, verify with your contacts whether they actually sent those links or intended for you to install new software. Stay vigilant online,” she emphasized. Simultaneously, she mentioned that Google aims to develop technologies reducing user concerns regarding cybersecurity, allowing more peace of mind amidst technological advancements.
“You ought to receive a phone that comes with built-in security features and notifies you when anything goes awry. This is what we aim to achieve,” she stated. “Being watchful, prudent, and cautious is commendable; however, we shouldn’t instill fear about technological advancements. Technology offers immense benefits to everybody—it facilitates connections over the internet, opens doors to job prospects and educational chances, and supports e-commerce.” Speaking specifically about India, she mentioned, “There’s an astounding amount of activity taking place online here.
