How much has Bitget invested in education
The training, conducted during the Kenya Community Education Day in Nairobi, is part of its $10 million (KSh 1.3 billion) global Blockchain4Youth initiative.
Participants included students, crypto newbies, influencers and members of the local community, local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Bitget members and active members of the crypto scene in Nairobi.
Chief Operating Officer of Bitget, Vugar Usi Zade, highlighted the region’s growing interest in digital finance and decentralised technologies.
“Blockchain4Youth isn’t just about education. It’s about opportunity. By equipping young people with practical knowledge of Web3, we’re planting the seeds for a more inclusive and globally connected future,” said Zade in a press statement seen by DJOGDJA NEWS.co.ke.
Why Bitget trains Kenyan youth
Bitget’s education-focused event aimed to bridge the knowledge gap for Kenyan youth.

Led by Mathendu, an experienced blockchain educator, the live sessions covered basic topics such as blockchain technology, basics of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and the importance of crypto wallets, highlighting the differences between custodial and non-custodial options.
Bitget's Blockchain4Youth programme, launched in 2023, aims to reach thousands of students and young professionals through global university partnerships, hands-on workshops and grassroots events. The initiative has gained momentum in Africa, where youth engagement with cryptocurrencies is rapidly increasing.
As Web3 continues to gain traction in Kenya and across the continent, Bitget is stepping up its commitment to local ecosystems and empowering education.
The event in Nairobi was another milestone on the road to a decentralised, youth-driven future.
