Tensions rise between Ukraine and Slovakia

Tensions between Ukraine and Slovakia continue to rise over Kiev's refusal to resume the transit of Russian gas to its western neighbor.

The Bratislava government accuses the Ukrainian administration of interfering in the country's internal affairs by supporting mass demonstrations against Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

This week, the “Georgian Legion”, made up of Georgian volunteers fighting against Russia alongside the Ukrainian army, rejected accusations of involvement in an alleged coup attempt against Mr. Fico.

The Slovak Prime Minister accuses the head of the Georgian military structure of supporting demonstrations against his government and conspiring with protest leaders.

On its social media networks, the unit described these accusations as totally unfounded.
